Wow! Winter seems to be upon us! It only seems fitting then that our story this week is about animals finding a warm place to live in the winter.

Phonics: This week we will be learning about the sound made by short i. The sound that the students will be learning is the sound you hear at the beginning of the word igloo.
Math: This week we will begin a new chapter about geometry and fractions. In this chapter we will be learning about solid figures, plain shapes, symmetry, and equal parts. Important vocabulary for this chapter includes: cone, sphere, cylinder, cube, circle, triangle, square, and rectangle.
